Teaching & Training

Workforce development and training relevant to the implementation and translation of pathogen genomics will be integrated into AusPathoGen.

Capacity Building

AusPathoGen will support training and build literacy of public health laboratory staff, health departments, and other stakeholders in the implementation of pathogen genomics and interpretation of genomic data, to enhance utilisation of genomic-based surveillance for public health.

Taking a sustainable approach to training and capacity building, AusPathoGen will develop ways to expand the workforce in public health genomics based on the demand for disciplines in the field, such as genomic epidemiology and bioinformatics.
